Afghanistan Memory Home
The Afghanistan Memory Home is a tribute to Afghanistan’s war victims and survivors.

About the database
The Afghanistan Memory Home is a tribute to Afghanistan’s war victims and survivors. This online platform includes a virtual museum as well as a database of Afghan victims. Using a victim-centred approach, the Memory Home memorialises victims’ lives and provides a platform for them to share their stories, experiences, and expectations.
This database documents the individuals affected by the Afghanistan war, encompassing both those who lost their lives and survivors. By shedding light on their stories, it serves as a valuable resource for research, raising awareness about the human toll of conflict, and supporting efforts to prevent future tragedies. Survivors, who are also considered victims, contribute first-hand experiences crucial for understanding the war’s aftermath. Their accounts provide essential details for accountability, memorialisation, and preservation of historical records.
The Afghanistan Memory Home was developed in collaboration with the Afghanistan Human Rights and Democracy Organisation (AHRDO).
