Mapping Death Row
The Mapping Death Row database offers information about foreign nationals at risk of capital punishment in Asia and the Middle East.
About the database
The database is a collaboration between the Foreign Nationals Death Penalty Research Network and HURIDOCS.
The development of the database was led by the University of Oxford Death Penalty Research Unit, along with a network of human rights NGOs, including The Death Penalty Project, Eleos Justice, Harm Reduction International, Justice Project Pakistan, Project 39a, and ADPAN.
The database contains records of foreign nationals who have been executed or are under sentence of death in Asia and the Middle East, and aims to assist civil society in efforts to support those at risk of capital punishment. Interactive maps of the two regions provide an overview of socio-demographic, jurisdictional and offence-related data for retentionist countries and include the types of crimes committed, nationalities, gender, occupation and status of foreign nationals sentenced to death.
The Mapping Death Row database contains more than 1200 cases and offers a number of useful resources relating to the capital punishment of foreign nationals.
Those who wish to report new cases or provide updates to existing cases are requested to contact the team of the Mapping Death Row platform.
