African Human Rights Case Law Analyser

Human rights decisions and laws from mechanisms in the African human rights system

The African Human Rights Case Law Analyser is an online database that was developed by the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (IHRDA) with support from HURIDOCS. It provides access to human rights decisions made by regional mechanisms, including:

  • African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights

  • African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child

  • African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights

  • ECOWAS Community Court of Justice

  • SADC Tribunal

  • East African Court of Justice

You can search for specific cases by different filters, such as country, keyword, article violated, type of document and outcome, as well as find information about different charters, treaties, conventions, protocols and more.

The database is available in English, French, Portuguese and Arabic.
